What happens when multiple authorities periodically “align” a system to their own un‑entrained clocks?

Watch dots (metronomes) naturally entrain via weak coupling. Then enable one or two managers who periodically snap a metronome to an external reference phase. The result: reduced coherence and, with two competing references, entrainment opportunity is destroyed.

Controls

Tip: enable both managers, set cadence to ~1–2s, and watch coherence collapse.

Readout

Coherence measures how clustered the metronomes are (1 = fully entrained, 0 = fully scattered).

State
Alignment imposed from outside breaks entrainment.
You don’t need more alignment. You need better timing.
