Design cadence that honors both progress and recovery.
Cadence redesign
Replace one-size-fits-all tempo with consent-aware cadence:
- Speed up where alignment is real
- Slow down where cycles are desynced
- Protect ambiguity windows for sense-making
- Tag decisions as reversible vs irreversible
Recovery is structural
Recovery isn’t a reward. It’s a system requirement. If intensity cycles don’t include decompression and integration, effectiveness decays invisibly.
Meeting micro-practice: “Finish the cycle”
- Ask: What cycle are we in? (sense-making / deciding / executing / integrating)
- Ask: What would completion look like?
- Commit to one small “cycle-finisher” action within 24 hours.
Leader language (short)
- “Not ready” is information.
- “Slow down here so we can go faster later.”
- “Where are we compressing disagreement?”
